“Liderazgo y una taza de té” (Leadership and a Cup of Tea)

A fresh, conversational, and thought-provoking guide to personal leadership.

Published in August 2025 and distributed worldwide in Spanish, the book comprises 30 short chapters written in Esther’s characteristic conversational and non-conformist style drawing on the author’s professional experience.

The book is a call for readers to develop their own leadership style and to engage with the themes outlined in the book from Christensen’s “jobs to be done” theory to Drucker’s tenants around human centred management.

The book transcends time and trends; it acknowledges the fact that leadership is a learning journey that starts with enquiry and involves connecting diverse people, resources and ideas to create an impact – like finding the ingredients and making (and serving) a cup of tea.

True to its title, the chapters are easily “digestible” and can be read in one sitting – whether during a daily commute or on a short break. The book is a practical companion to any current or future leader of organisations big or small. It took 10 years to write and is based off a concept in one of the author’s first published articles that went viral after six months.

Leadership Begins with Enquiry, Not Ego

There’s No One-Size-Fits-All Leadership Style

Impact Comes from Connection and Action

“Esther’s book is an invitation to pause and reconsider how we lead in a complex world. Like a well-brewed cup of tea, it’s not hurried or prescriptive—it’s thoughtful, layered, and rooted in lived experience. As someone who shared a literal journey with Esther aboard the schooner Pacific Swift in our youth, I recognize the clarity that comes from time spent steering through both calm and storm. This book is a reflection of that kind of leadership—infused with reflection, humility, and a deep commitment to helping others find their own true direction.”
